Gotta get a code reader, or go to an autoparts place and borrow theirs... lots of things can set codes.

yeah, I ordered the durametrics. should be here soon. judging by the appearance of the film on the MAF sensor, I went ahead and ordered one on Ebay for $225 My research on this behaviorsays MAF, plugs, loose or bad coils, injectors, and then, horror, variocam problem.

does anyone know if the abs/psm always come on with a maf issue? mine are not, but symptoms are just like most of the MAF problems diagnosed here and elsewhere.

also, someone said you can disconnect the maf and battery, then reconnect battery and run sans maf and if no problem then its the maf. Is that true? I am scared to do that without a consensus.

I've disconnected the maf in other cars to diagnose- no issues.

The abs/psm is with a BLOWN maf... a fouled maf is different.

How old are the plugs? Thats my bet! (just based on nothing, e betting is so easy!)
