Body Bag,

thanks for your concise info!
I have B&M SS with EVOMS billet thingy, and it is short, notchy but it does feel
like it locks in (Positive feel). I also purchased (from suncoast) a 997 shifter assembly
and am now wondering if I should use it or not??

MK

edit: the AP one "looks" very well made!

I replaced my stock shifter with the B&M SSK. It is significantly shorter than the stock one. It takes a bit more effort to shift but I like the way it positively goes into gear and the more solid feel.

Important safety tip... I would upgrade to a better shift linkage (like the agency power ones) because shortly after the SSK upgrade the shift linkage broke and left my wife in rush hour traffic STUCK IN NEUTRAL.

I can sell you the 997 shifter. We sell all OEM parts. But I recommend what I use and know works best.

I would still advise caution in using the linkage:
linkage comparison

If you do a search you will find many more with problems associated with the aftermarket linkage

example problem

you are the first person I have ever seen this from. we have sold probably 400 of these with never 1 issue.

I read both threads and that is a EVOMS part...go figure. The Agency Power is much different in design then theirs.

Post #11 of the first comparison link shows the original agency power linkage. It really is not that different apart from cosmetics. Give me a break.

Dan, how does your SSK differ from B&M's? From the pictures they look pretty similar.

This is the quote from Tool Pants post #11

Here is another version, from Agency Power.

Attached thumbnail(s)

This is based on Tool Pants input...which quite frankly I trust more than yours. He isn't selling anything

Must be a full moon to be that angry. Since I own Agency Power, I know what we make and that is not ours. The reason we made ours like we did is because of the weak point with that threaded piece. Plus the fact is that can loosen up and come out. The 1 piece part that Agency Power has is more rigid, uses a 88 Delrin material for a secure and solid feel.

I love you too.

liquidcool is infamous around these parts
B&M for me.. makes driving the car far more enjoyable. Each gear 'locks' in nicely, almost digital in feel. Each snaps in and gives a real sense that you've hit each one whereas the factory shifter feels several "steps" as it goes in. I like that snap/lock feel of the B&M and it really does add to the enjoyment of the car and makes shifting easier and requiring less thought.

Angry...are you kidding. I am just supplying information for others to look over...you go after me and suggest I get my facts straight.
Your facts are still wrong.
I'm not sure anything posted on the net can be considered a fact (quite the contrary) and I did not suggest it was. I simply reposted a thread from another P-car enthusiast. I don't think it hurts to provide more information...certainly when it comes from a user vs. a supplier. I am sorry if you disagree with this position...but you have lost me as a potential customer.
