Perhaps. But honestly i don't care about low end. I love road racing not 1/4 mile so it dosent make a diffs to me. I know you road race to heavy. I think it outweights the benefits imo. From the data acquired it states i didnt lose any low end power. So i'll go with that. Perhaps in a dyno it will say otherwize ? but im not a dyno queen....i like real results. Next mods are to remove front and rear bumber supports lose a few lbs...

rehashing old thread instead of starting a new one:
Great thread, and just wondering if anyone has done a comparo with a good flowing muffled exhaust like europipe or fabspeed gen1,2 loud vs straight pipes? I wonder if a little backpressure will actually increase power under the curve?

PLUS 1, doesnt straight pipes reduce weight, temp and get full boost quicker (earlier?), tuners have told me the pipes vs any muffler would be better in all cases...

I guess no one has done any studies or comparisons...when you pay 5k or more for an exhaust you should expect proven advantages.

You should, but it dosent mean you will. But as i stated i wanted to lose some weight in the rear and i wanted a better/smooter (N/A) power line like. I have achieved it with this setup and i'm extremely pleased. It is my DD, it is very loud. It is not for everyone.

No. I want to get a Dyno tune for my straight pipes. Once i get my intake, that will be my last power mod for my car. I'm sure with intake/ecu/dv/straight pipes with a custome tune i should be over 500 bhp. I think thats plenty for road racing. Other then that I have to concentrate on improving my driving ability.

nope, but I am not in the business of making and selling 5k plus exhaust systems, it is not for the consumer to do. Not sure why you asked this

I was asking the question from F1, what does this have to do with selling exhaust? I dyno all my additions on my car for my own comparison.

Well I don't really have time for a dyno. Also this is real life times vs. a dyno queen. I rather have hard fact numbers over a dyno queen. My buddy did a 'dyno' on his iphone which is suppose to be pretty accurate. We had 3 pp. it said between 463 to 523 hp. I have pulled hard on other tt's and modded m6's

If I get enterprising enough, I could conceivably flash the stock program back into the car and do a comparo between stock, euro pipe, fab speed cats and straight pipes and fabspeed gen 1. But that is lots of work and time, but I'd like to see how much torque in the non/low boost area the high flow exhaust steals from these motors.

The straight pipes could very well make more power than the restrictive stock exhaust. But they DO NOT make more power than my PSI exhaust. It's a but dyno, but a substantial feel, on the low end. Almost as much as you get from DV's.

And the PSI exhaust was only 15 lbs heavier. I was dissapointed (by only losing 15 lbs). But the straight pipes were less than $300 shipped so it was still a bargain.

My k24 dv's (only other power mods) dynoed 523 rwhp. I can go back and try with the PSI back on eventually and may do so.

One proven advantage of running an exhaust that uses some form of a muffler is that your neighbors aren't as likely to want to set you and your car on fire.
