I have had that piece of crap plastic part break on me twice. Went to the dragstrip and didn't even make one run shifting into third and bam broken again.

Next day I ordered the EVO short shifter installed it and went to the track last night. Ran 5 times no problemo!

Not too bad to install if you are mechanically inclined. Todd gives great instructions with his products. We even did the EVO DV's ourselves.

Thanks Todd! Check your pm and call me we need to talk about Stage 5!!

Will this upgrade change the "feel" of the shifter?

I have the EVO Short shifter and you only replace the right cable connection. This prevents any problems of the plastic piece of crap breaking off of your shifter leaving you with a limp you know what in your hands!

The feel is different but I think better. It is a little notchy but the throws are shorter and positive.

FYI. I just got the new EVO piece installed yesterday to compliment the B&M shifter that I already have. (Remember, this new piece replaces a plastic factory piece that tends to break.)

After the install, there was a very subtle improvment in shifter feel. It is not quite as notchy, a little smoother. Also, the "snick" or "click" type noise that the B&M used to make when you shift to first or third is now muted. The length of the throws was not impacted.

The best part... no longer having to worry about a being stuck on the side of the road with a broken plastic stock piece ...

Todd,

My car has 3k miles on it and I have had this problem since I bought the car. Initially I thought the gearbox would smooth out, but, it has not. Sometimes the lever gets almost stuck in first and second gear. This also occurs in reverse mode. It becomes difficult to pull the lever out of gear. The 1st 2nd shift is also very clunky. Will the product you mention above solve this problem or am I having a completely unrelated problem?

Thanks and excuse my ignorance on this one.

-Lou
