Broken Shifter?? ...No More
Lou -
Which shifter do you have? The B&M? The problems you have don't sound normal for the B&M. Prior to installing Todd's new product, the B&M would go "click" or "snick" or something like that when you engaged first or third. And it was a little "notchy" feeling, nothing unusual for an aftermarket shifter. But, I never had it stick in gear or anything like that.
The only difference I noted after the new piece (w/the B&M) is that it is no longer notchy and the "snick" is muted (very subtle) now.

The stock TT shifter should be very smooth, easy throws, like moving through butter. It's just a very, very long throw - which is the only thing the aftermarket shifters can remedy.

I talked to dealer (service manager) about it. He said they would install the part and it would not affect the warranty.

(OK. I was just kidding. But, some stories on the Forum haven't been too far off from that!)
