Was it a new exhaust? How sure are you of the CAT conditions?

When I was shopping for used, a wise tuner told me a high res picture of each cat was essential to assess potential damage

Wierd it is both sides... any chance you mixed up which o2 sensor goes to which hole?

ard, yes it was a brand new exhaust--a Fabspeed Gen 3 Quiet. Possible I mixed up the sensors, but I don't think so. I had marked the leads with masking tape. But bear in mind that I'm the same guy who thinking back to the install only thought he installed one O2 sensor per side

A gave the car a good stretch last night and so far the CEL light has stayed dark.

I'm having the same issue and after resetting the CEL it will eventually come back on. The code I get is P0430, something with the 02 sensor. Checked the code again at a shop and it turned out to be the cat. I was told to add extensions to the 02 sensors to trick them out.

What do you mean by adding extensions to the 02 sensors? I still have the issue. I'll reset the system, and sometimes I can go weeks before the CEL pops on. Other times, it pops within a few hours. If you have a fix without getting more efficient cats, I'd like to know.

Thanks,

ken

Thanks,

They are basically O2 bung extensions that thread into the existing bung and then you thread your O2 back into it, to get the O2 out away from the flow of exhaust gases... less sensitive...

That's absolutely correct! I am about to try that soon and see if it works. Yeah the CEL comes on randomly...

I had the same issue as well. We concluded it was indeed because the new exhaust was more free-flowing than the stock exhaust.

The Radio code must be re-entered when doing this...just as a heads up.
That's what i do when CEL comes on and if it goes off....good,if it doesn't i take her to the dealer.
