Suspension: Turbo & GT2 differences
Good Q!
I remember when I installed ES inserts on my lowly Toyota, totally transformed the car.

GMG makes a nice adjustable thrust bushing that can aid in gaetting a lot more negative camber as well.
After doing the entire GMG setup on mine(springs, adj sways, toe links, dog bones, thrust bushings, adj cup trailing arms, etc) and achieving -1.5 fr and -2.1 rear(more if I want it), it really does change the car in a good way. Having all these adjustable components makes setting the correct geometry(alignment) a snap on a lowered car. With the stock components and just coilovers you're really limited.(See the pss10 gt3 sway post) There is so much slop built into the stock suspension(on a 997tt, probably worse on a 996tt), 'tightening' things up like Mike says really makes a difference. BTW, I think the x73 motor mounts can be had seperately and cheaper than the rsr mounts and are similar. Just my .03

Any chance someone could post some pics of stock GT2 and 996TT wheel carriers?
It'd be nice to have them as a reference and to maybe see the differences a little clearer that the shop manual portrays.

Let me provide another real world data point for you folks:
Tom Kerr and I were at VIR together In March... Now I know VIR much better than Tom, since it is my "home track". Tom's car has similar HP, and much better suspension... MUCH better...Jics, camber plates, lots of negative camber GT3 sway bars, not sure about his bushings, but he has ultra-WIDE tires (265s on the front and 335s out back) and Tom is an instructor/ licensed race car driver.
Tom Ran 2:10s in March. In July, with my PSS9s/stock strut mounts/HR sway bars set to the middle hole and 1.5 negative camber front, 2.0 negative camber rear, and with MPSCs in stock sizes (225 front 295 rears) I ran 2:10:46s.
I'm going back next weekend with a change in the control arms only, gaining significant camber (2.9 front and 2.5 rear negative camber) and I hope to put down quicker times. By getting solid strut upper mounts, adjustable toe links/lock plates, and motor mounts, I feel that the car will be near perfect.
But will it just push all that energy out to the next sloppy rubber bushing? Most likely... Until you get it all "done", you're just moving the problem out to the next weakest part.
These are the WEVO mounts a couple of the GT3 owners are using with success!

The blue bushing is harder than the black units...Be adviced you'll have to source longer motor mount bolts.
