What Octane?

What Octane do you fill up with? mainly 91? any of you fill with 94? Theres one Sunoco that I know of thats about 15 minutes drive from my place that has 94, and wow does it make a difference. Any of you use 94?

I used to use 94 Sunoco, but they don't offer that anymore in Boston. So I am using 93 Shell V-Power. I love some of their new gas station with better handles and they are pretty clean. In Singapore they offer 100octane for the V-Power LOL!! and the worst there is 97 @_@

I filled up with 105 unleaded 2 weeks ago and switched into the GTR program. She was a little peppier than 'usual'. But at C$ 200 a tank, I will not be doing it all the time.

yeah 97 is their worst, but Singapore only has small engine cars like S280, C180, it just does not make sense putting all those fuel in that type of vehicle.

Yes, no and no. Yes, you can use 100 octane without any mods. No, it wont damage your engine. No problems switching back.

That being said, you must reprogram your ECU (e.g., advance the timing) in order to achieve the real benefits of higher octane gas. I use only 100 and 101 octane (101 from Alliance and 100 from 76) and my ECU is programmed accordingly. The increased power is substantial.

I have the local VP distributor deliver barrels or 103 unleaded (2) at a time to my warehouse. I have a custom GAIC chip to take full advantage of it. I like to think of it as barrels-o-fun...LOL

Don't they use the RON rating versus the (RON + MON)/2 rating?

RON will provide a higher octane rating versus the (R+M)/2 rating used in the U.S.

Dock - I was just anout to type that!! You are right, US rating is different than that used in Europe, the Misddle East and I guess some Asian markets...The former is always lower..
I used to use Shell 93 in my TT (closest to home and im OCD that I fill up DAILY regardless of how much is there) with the occasional trip to Sunocofor 94...
Tried 100 twice since I have a special program for that Definitely noticeable difference...not sure if it is worth it at $5 per gallon though ( and that was back in 2003 before the high oil prices)
