PCM 2.0 Nav Updates now available
PCM 2.0 Nav Updates now available
I'm not sure how kosher it is to post this here with all the drama I missed in the Vendor Marketplace section BUUUUUUUT,
If you have a PCM 2.0 and need the 2008 map updates, they're on our site now!
PCM Navigation Update - PCM 2.0 (2003-04)
$329

A new update to the model year 08' data version is available for the navigation data in Porsche Communication Management 2.0 (PCM 2.0). The maps cover new countries and are much more detailed. There are more points of interest (POI) available for selection. As a result, considerably more tourist information (hotels, restaurants, parking garages/lots, services stations, etc.) is provided.
Covers America (Canada, USA, Hawaii, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Brazil).

- Carrera with PCM - 2003-2004

No.
Navteq stopped with 2004.1 (which sold for $199)
Porsche failed to comission any new updates past that point. (Navteq continued to issue updates for BMW and many other car marques well past the end of the model (ie BMW to 2007, 2008 for the 2000-2003 E39) The manufacturer just pays a minimal fee and they crank out updates using their database in a week's time... but not Porsche.)
No luck with Porsche.
I spoke to Navteq and they have no new maps- the data sold above is Porsche of unknown origin and quality. I am curious as to what it might include.
$329 is highway robbery- not Suncoast's fault. Time for a bittorrent run....

I have PCM 2.1 on my 2003 X50.Does this mean that my dealer can upgrade 2.1 to 3.0 and then put these new maps on? Do they come on CD (my PCM is CD, not DVD).thanksOr should I junk the whole thing and go aftermarket (what I am leaning to...)
