PPI Questions

Just had a 2001 996TT into Hendrick Porsche for a PPI and the service guy told me that it need a short list of little things (front tires, front brake pads, steering wheel CF cracked) that need to be addressed. I get the PPI sheet from the dealer and the tech wrote "Has seen range 2 RPM REV". Is this the Range 2 Over-rev count? The service guy swears that it isn't over-rev, but I just don't know.

Also the tech referenced that the dash is rippling. I was not aware of any issues with the 996 era cars having dash issues, is this common?

Do you have a copy of the report? It should say the type-2 overrevs the car has and how long ago was the last one. I just had a PPI done on mine and it has 16 type 2 overrevs. If you read up on the boards (do a search) on type 2, it's not "as bad" as many people make it out to be.
