Well this one is a 50/50 for me lol. The part above highlighted in *black bold* could pass for sarcasm. The part above highlighted in *red bold* on the other hand sounds realistic.....

Regardless thanks for the input.

No sarcasm intended! You already got the money, go for it.
I am looking for a later year then 01. Thanks for the offer. I am also debating on a black 06 Viper Srt10 Coupe with 1,700 miles for 60k even! Which to me is a great deal considering the Viper with some coil-overs (KW) and Quaife LSD is a complete track star!

Sorry Pwn.
2. Switzer is fine, but the "best, top notch, highest quality parts/tuner", if you really want to know is: http://www.tornadofuel-saver.com/

I think I have a twin to your car. (Fraternal, not identical, since mine is the plain old silver.) I guess I have the cheapest 550+hp car in 6 speed. It was de-tuned due to slipping clutch.
The viper is a totally different beast. Having flogged them, they seem intolerant of (my) sloppy driving. The 996TT is a great all around car - blending comfort, control, and more speed than you'll need on a public road. I've yet to meet a person that purchased a 996TT and said that s/he wished they went with XYZ car instead.

Nice. A pervious member posted that " up-keep " on these cars are very frequent. I don't want to buy this car if it has so many problems. Vipers are very solid cars and with a couple 10-15k can become unstoppable track monsters. While being a very reliable solid car.
The above being said, would I be able to get a little bit of input on maintenance? I would think that a 140k car woulden't have " 2nd gear pop-out issues " lol. Let alone an alternate list of problematic issues.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying $200 for an oil change etc etc etc, but I don't want to get stuck in the middle of Chicago with some women looking stupid
lolPwn
lol...... Fail
It should be read like this - " I DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK IN CHICAGO WITH SOME *WOMEN*.......................................... LOOKING STUPID "
You interpreted it wrong lol..... Why would I drive with " stupid looking women "......... I only date bishes that pass my " Super Model " test

Pwn, I was curious to know what porsche cars you have test driven so far and where at? Were the salesmen totally useless in helping you out? Did you have any preferences in how the various models felt and made you feel when driving them? I was looking at mega HP vipers as well but those cars can be quite dangerous and it'd be terrible for you to have a bad accident at so early an age. Sol http://www.perfectpowerinc.com/contact.html is local to you and can offer you great advice. Let us know what you learn.
I thank you both for contributing this information. I have driven a 06 Viper Srt10 Coupe. Yes Vipers are extremelyyyyyyyy dangerous, I can not stress that enough. There are no computer driving aids, traction control, etc etc etc etc..... Basically old school heel toe. On the other hand if I choose to get the Viper I will ONLY upgrade to a Quaife LSD, Moton Coil overs, Belanger Headers, Belanger Cat-Back, K&N Cold Air Intake, and a SSK. With all of those upgrades I can safely say that the car would be unstoppable at the track. Once you start going w/ twin turbos/superchargers the car loses its daily drivability......
As for the Porsche I have never driven a TT. My friend recently bought a Porsche Cayman S. When I drove it I really loved the light feel and handling that is the main reason I signed up on this forum. The problem was the speed lol.... It was a complete terd. Even though I am used to my 1000awhp Evo lol this thing was just plain slow...
So I figured the 996 TT would shine in all those places the Cayman lacks.... I mean you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out it would be a night and day difference...... Handling - Light Feel - Speed - Power - etc etc etc
Since I enjoyed the feel of the Cayman S so much the 996 TT has to be THAT much better, agree? Another thing I love about the 996/997 TT's are their style. Its pure sex! Vipers look sexy too, but the Porsche has a more sleek/mysterious look. Especially with a set of deep dish wheels it looks out of this world.
Oh and if you are looking for a " MEGA HP " car I might sell you my Evo? I plan on putting it on the F/S section here soon maybe I dont know - The grass is always greener on the other side lol

Pwn:
You should drive the 996TT and make your own judgement.
By many measures, the mid-engined Porsches offer better dynamics on the track (or anywhere else). Arguably, my 986S is better balanced and easier to control than my 996TT when the electronic co-pilot is turned off in both.
Also, cars that look great on paper may not live up to their promise on the track. Equally worse, they may not live up to your subjective expectations. Having been through many cars and learning some expensive lessons, I now understand that the best cars on the track, in the hands of decent drivers, are often not the ones that parking attendants will place in the "prime" valet spaces. Only you understand where your priorities fall.
Finally, be safe and drive with common sense. Just because your car can do 200mph doesn't mean that you should try. Just yesterday, I spoke with an older gentleman that said he get another speeding ticket and was afraid that his license would get yanked. I asked him why he doesn't save that for the track. He replied that it's too much fun to go fast. What an idiot.
By the way, he was clocked doing 75 in a 30 zone.

Oh wow, based on your post I will definitely test drive one now before I make my final decision. Only problem with that is I am 20. 99.9% of the time I am not taken seriously. I just recently purchased a thoroughbred race horse for a decent amount of money. The moment I stepped out the car I could feel the unspoken " hey little kid why you wasting my time ". He was chewing his bubble gum so loud, obnoxious, and unprofessional I just wanted to smack it out of his mouth. He was drinking coffee, putting me on hold while he was casually talking with his friends laughing and disregarding I was even there. Regardless I bought the horse, but not out of spite.
Also regarding your comment about speeding - You can rest assure that I am not some punk who has to show off and prove points on how accomplished I am - Remember my Mother prowls these PUBLIC roads as does your wife, children, etc etc etc
Thanks for the input and best wishes,
Pwn
