How we doin. Anyway I am in the market for a 996 TT, reason I am not going with the 997 TT is because I personally feel it is unethical to pay the extra premium for such minor differences. Regardless before I make a move I was trying to find some information on the next gen porsche 911 TT which would be the "998 TT"? Correct me if I am wrong.
The little bit of information I found is that porsche is gong to make the new gen a little more "budget" in 2010... Is 2010 when the new TT is schedualed to debut? Are rumors about the engine not being a boxster etc etc true?
Just would like to find some information about the up and coming TT before I buy a 996.... Basically want to see if I should wait until 2010 or make a move on a 996......
Another quick question... I have been seeing this tuner "switzer" quite a bit and I plan on doing a couple minor upgrades on the 996.... Would anybody be willing to just stick their neck out and tell me the best, top notch, highest quality parts/tuner available?
Here is another topic - I really like the lights on the 997 and I can not seem to find any other difference exterior wise between the two ( 997,996 ). So lets say I buy the 996 would there be anyway I can just cover up the extra lighting on the 996's headlights to make it look like the 997...
^^ I know that sounded kind of poser with the whole light deal but the 997 headlights seem a bit more "modern"
------ Any input would be greatly appreciated -------
Thanks in Advance,
Pwn

Another quick one to get me updated - What websites do you all use to buy misc parts such as exhaust, shift *****, Short Shifters, interior/exterior misc etc etc etc..... I would just feel more confident ordering knowing actual board members use the same site etc etc

Last question I promise lol - I am really young and it would be great if you could specify your age in your reply to this question..... How is insurance? I have called 3 insurance agencies and all 3 approved me. Personally I think the rates are a bit high
Now granted the closest person to my age on this forum is most likely 7-8 years my senior..... I would just like to put it in perspective
Thanks,
Pwn

You have got to be kidding me lol. Red - I know exactly where you misunderstood. I said " the closest person(s) to my age are most likely 7-8 years my SENIOR.... " Squint your eyes a little bit, think, and read it again

To answer YOUR question I am not " 2 Y.O. " add a zero (0) after the 2. Which would mean I am 20 incase you are still pondering
lol j/k. Now would you by any chance be able to provide me with the information I seek? Pwn
Where to start-- 2 YO plus the 7-8 you quote equals 9-10 YO. . I hope you are genuine in your questions--time will tell. Giving you the benefit of doubt......
The answers are in this forum to answer all your questions--the search button is there and the questions you ask have many answers and opinions - all discussed here somewhere. Do your homework and be more precise in the specific information you seek-- many will try and help.

I am not sure we are on the same page with whole age/number thing lol... Regardless I have most def used the search button and found very many interesting things I was seeking. By no means do I want to sound important or anything of that nature but I am fairly busy and as much as I would love to just sit and click the search button for hours I just time wise can not ( For those of you thinking that I am being sarcastic lol I am not.... I use to just sit on my comp for hours looking up cars. ) ... Not only that Red but I honestly believe my questions where unique and specific.

Oh you are gonna fit in here perfectly.
Say, you should PM a few members who have volunteered to help out our junior members. Marksky, Tom Keer, Dr. Joe Jitsu, a few others I forget...
And when people don't reply to your queries, just keep bumping it- and complain too about it, don't just quietly bump it.

Sorry Pwn.
Some of the guys on here can be a bit rude and sacracstic. I know what it's like to have valuable time (most of the guys on here just laze around all day with their trust fund and have time to search the forums). So let me offer you some assistance and spare your schedule:
1. The New Porsche turbo (you'r right, 998TT) will be normally aspirated and have a wankel rotary engine. Should be a hoot.
2. Switzer is fine, but the "best, top notch, highest quality parts/tuner", if you really want to know is: http://www.tornadofuel-saver.com/
3. I already use masking tape on my car to re-create the 997 look. Don't worry about loosing the turn signals or high beams. I carry around a highpowered flashlight with me and use hand signals.
4. For all your parts needs, look no further than www.jcwhitney.com
Hope this has been helpful and welcome to the party!

Pwn, you can't afford the 996TT if you're only 20. It's too expensive. Maintenance will simply kill you and the economy is really bad. You should be saving for college and your future. So, I recommend starting with a '99 Carrera in standard form.
Come back when you're 25 or 26 and/or markets have re-corrected.
Keep in mind, this is only my opinion.

After you mastered it, please post a DIY.Pwn,
I do agree that you're a little young for a 9xxTT. Beside the money, you don't want to look like an old man right? Chics your age would go for a vette, Mustang... so why pay the extra money.
