2005 Turbo S Cab opinions wanted...
mine is still available I have it in for sale section at 90,000 with fvd chip and speed tech exhaust. Everyone keeps telling me not to sell it. it's atlas grey with 13,900 original sticker was 150,405. I love this car it flies.
Over a year ago I paid $77k for a 2004 X50 with 17k miles.
A 2004 last year is (roughly) equivalent to looking at a 2005 today....
X50 is almost an S, just PCCBs and a rear deck logo. (Remember, I think the S has Gen 1 PCCBs, which are different than Gen2...depending on the buyer it may be a value or a push)
I suspect that the overall market for the 996 model has aged a bit- a 2004 in 2007 isn't fully equivalent to a 2005 in 2008, since the entire 996TT model is aging.
Mine had more miles and is not a Cab- that adds something.
Remember, Asking Price isn't Selling Price. Sellers like to claim the S is rare and valuable- and for some buyers it may be, but the cachet of that logo will drop quickly.

Thanks ard. I think it is gen II PCCB on the S. Also, there is big dif in prices I see between cabs and coupes.
Greg, sorry the deal fell through. Car looks great and is exactly what I wanted but I did find another I am working on since I thought yours was sold.

I guess you're right Robert. You tell me what I paid, OK? Then I'll correct my post.

If you want to think that the hyper-rare, 2005 "S" is somehow worth big dollars as a collectors item, fine. For some folks it may be, clearly fastlane paid alot for his a while back, so there are buyers.
Maybe I'm totally off base and there is some kind of 'step' in pricing past 2004... but 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 follow a pretty linear curve over the last 18 months.
And really, back to the OP- at the end of the day, the right car, perfect condition, perhaps local, low miles- might be worth an extra 5-10k to YOU. All depends.
