I saw this car in person a little more than 2 years ago when it was owned by a guy down in LaJolla CA. At the time it had roughly 3600 miles on it, and they appeared to be VERY HARD MILES. The car looked beat to say the least. It had been used as an autocross car that had been campaigned for at least 2 seasons and during one of them had earned the championship. At one point I had a link to the online story and photos of the car, but I can't find it now. Obviously to win a championship it had to be a well sorted car, but it was poorly cared for at least cosmetically.
The interior carpet as well as some trim inside the trunk were cut to provide access to the shock reservoirs, hoses and harness bar. Much of the original equipment that had been removed including the original seats was missing at the time, and I'm pretty sure it didn't have the stock wheels either (I think it had FM10's on it, but I can't remember 100% since I was looking at a few cars back then). Nearly everything on the inside of the car looked as if it had 50k miles on it, not 3k miles.
Also, it had 2 large key scratches in the drivers side which the owner explained he did not have fixed because he didn't want the car to have paintwork or 'stories'.
I'm not trying to bash, just want to make sure nobody gets screwed. Like I said, this car must be very well sorted to have competed at the level it did. If you're interested, do your homework and go see the car in person before you pull the trigger. $.02

The GT2 has been parked for a while now, close to 6 months at least. I've been driving a few of my classic cars around. With summer, kids, vacations etc, I haven't spent any time in the GT2 lately. Most of my seat time this summer (outside of driving my truck) has been spent in my GNX. That car is comfy as hell, has A/C (something most of my old cars don't have) and it flat out hauls the mail too. To top it off, it gets 22-25mpg!!!
Man, I've seen that car for a LONG time on ebay and it never sells... I always wondered what the story was.
