26K...
I love the white interior and would likely paint the wood white or body color. Not quite in the market, but the car is growing on me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...=p4506.c0.m245

Drive one before you get to excited about them...
I had a 2002 MRoadster, and the Z4 platform isn't even close in "feel" to the previous platform... Defenitely left me "disconnected", which the 2002M didn't... That car was like putting on a comfy pair of jeans and your favorite jacket!

I was under the impression the Z4 platform is much better in every respect. The Z3 platform is known for cracking rear subframes and is suspected of having weak crank bearings as they were not recalled like the M3s due to 7500 RPM redline. The Z4 even comes with M3 competition package brakes? i had an 02 M3 and the package left a very good impression.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely take a test spin now.
These cars have taken a beating. less than 50% in two years. I wonder what they will sell for in the dead of winter in the next few months.

i used to have the one and only m roadster in Greece '00...also i own a BMW performance store,so I can help you...regarding the Z3M roadster,go and buy the one with the E36 321hp engine...not the S54...the S54 is well known for failures of crankcase and rod bearings resulting in total engine failure...on the other hand S52 is bullet proof and only some minor failures of vanos systems are known...cheap repair...compared to a new engine...the key is to keep the rev limit to stock rpm...Also if you decide to buy the S54,when you buy it change the bearings and do it every 50000km...that way you will save your engine...this is the one and only way to have 100% bulletproof engine...DONOT HESITATE DOING SO!!!You wont hear a sound pronouncing the failure...the engine will crack immidiately without any signs...So change the bearings, make a good warm up and enjoy... also, just to know my nickname is my sirname+hp of my supercharged M roadster...(447)
Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately we only have S54 engines in the US starting with the 01 Roadster/coupe Z3.
The Y2K and previous engines were 3.2 versions of the 2.8 with 240 HP... Some idiot at BMW thought we were not interested in the S52 models....

Yea, I had no issues with mine as well, as far as the S54 motor, and BMW extended the warranty on the car to 6 years/100K miles for the motor.
As to the comments I made about the Z4 platform, I can only explain what I felt when I did a back to back comparison. When I sold the MRoadster (2002 model in Laguna Seca Blue), I was looking at the Z4 Mcoupe that had just been released, and the Z4M Roadster. The previous owner, who bought and M4ZRoadster new in 2006 wanted to BUY the car that he sold me back from me (the 2002 Z3Mroadster) as he felt the exact same way as I did. They MZ4 is just NOT the same car at all...
I was fortunate in the sense that I had sold the MRoadster to a dealer in canada and they didn't pick up until 2 months after paying me for it. I had plenty of time to do research and comparisons on what I wanted to replace it with. Having it there to compare to other platforms was great to remind myself just how great that car was.
If you're concerned about that subframe issue, any number of Indy BMW shops can do the sub-frame repair for about $1000 or less. Once you do that upgrade, you'll be fine.
