Hello all.
I am in the market for an 02-04 996 turbo. Currently, I am about to look at a 2002 X50 with low 20s and an 02 996 TT with high 20k on the odometer, both manual 6spd vehicles. Is there anything in particular I need to do when i get the vehicle checked out aside from the obvious paint/body repairs? Also, how reliable are the 996TTs if I were to leave them relatively stock and put another 50k or so on the odo in the future? I'm just trying to prepare myself, i've always wanted a porsche and now I think I will pick one up. I just want to make sure the transmission and motor are pretty sturdy on these bad boys.

 

Have the dealer check for Type 2 overevs and get a good PPI done.

 

The engines on the Turbo's are bullet proof! Some transmissions had a 2nd gear problems. A PPI at a Porsche dealer is a good advise.
