October 18: 60-130 Event is Back!!!! Houston, TX
Mods, can we keep this thread in this forum as most of the Houston folks only visit the 996 section of the forum? Thanks!
Well, the 60-130 event is BACK! I've had sooo many PM's, emails and calls asking about our next event (especially since Hurricane Ike) that I felt it was time to schedule the next one... Please see below for all the details and I hope to see all of you there!
When:
Saturday October 18th
Gates open at 4:30 pm
Track hot from 5 pm to 8 pm
At 8 pm the track converts to 1/4 mile racing and all spectators stay to watch and all racers that ran the 60-130 can run 1/4 mile.
Cost:
Entry - $15
Tech Card - $50
There will be no additional charge to 1/4 mile race after the 60-130 event.
If you want to come to the 1/4 mile racing ONLY, you won't be able to get in until 8 pm at which point it will cost you $10 to enter and $20 to race. The track will close at 8 pm and re-open for 1/4 mile racing at 8:30 pm.
Caravan Information:
Meet at the Conoco gas station at I-10 and Eldridge at 3:15 pm. We will leave the gas station at 3:40 pm and head out to Lonestar together.
Please feel free to ask/post questions here... Thanks and see you all there!

Hey Doc, I saw your 2 on the rack today. Walked under it, jiggled a few wires and lines and things. Touched the pipes and stuff coming downwards. Then Tommy ran me off..
Tommy is doing Milltek exhaust, DV's, Flash, new hoses and things and and intake. I'm sure I'm forgetting some cool stuff. Parts aren't in yet. Can't wait.

Hoping to be there. Wooo! More importantly I'm hoping Paulie, Sean, Chris, and Rob are there to get some smoking hot times.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever. They will bolt strait on although you will need water lines. Tommy can do it. It is the cheapest 90 rwhp you will ever get. They are Garret BB w/ TIAL wastegates and they have absolutely no lag.
They retailed for 4.5K but you can have them for 1.9.

Not to damper your party but why do you guys use Tommy? He is a great guy and has a very fast supra that is with out question. But Tommy does not build Porsches? Has Tommy ever taken a motor apart? I dont think Tommy actually builds Supra motors? Interesting enough, I think he sends all his Supras out to be built? Secondly, Tommy does not have a clue to tunning a Porsche?? Actually, I dont think Tommy writes any programs for the supras?? These are some of the aspects I looked into when I choose who touches my car. Todd Knighton tunes and builds as well as Akram. I also dont think you could go wrong with Ruf in Dallas or Louis in Houston? Just my two cents.

Tommy is doing just fine. You need to be more respectful of your fellow Houstonians. Tommy has held world records, and is a major innovator. He is just now trying to get into Porsche and with his knowledge of turbo's there is definitely a market for him here.
Your suggestions to use Ruf is retarded. Their prices are not on par with the market. The reason Louis isn't used more, is because often times he has some tech that isn't familiar with Porsches working for him. Louis' Mexican Technicians aren't in town enough to be used reliably. To bad because they are especially skilled and great people.
Meanwhile why don't you borrow someone's PBOX or buy one here and go get some 60-130 numbers so we can get an idea what kind of monster you got. I'm sure its worth bragging and sounds like might be a continder for Peter's 60-130 time of 4.51.
OK, Mr BlackHorseTurbo, you need to change plans and come from 5-7 pm to the 60-130, NO excuses!!!!!
On another note, were you in the NW area (W Little York and Eldridge) parked in a "friends" driveway??? I thought it looked like your car????
As for Tommy, he is PHENOMINAL, you guys won't be disappointed...
Rob, you coming to the event?

Tommy is an awesome mechanic. I would trust him with a 996TT any day. He has been nothing but cool to me since I met him 7 years ago when he layed the smack down on my old Black Cobra 'Vert. Thats when I thought 500rwhp was a lot of power and he had about 800rwhp LOL. Needless to say it was very ugly.
I'm going to try to be there. I'm going to the Edge car show then going to head up to the track. Matt is trying to get his clutch broken in and his car tuned so he can come try the 300shot this time. Unless the weather is better I don't need to run my car. I ran a 6.69 the other night (and unless the weather is better, I don't expect much more), and I need a decent amount of room due to turbo lag.
Can't wait to see everyone out there. Rob you need to bring your car out, so should Paul and Sean (if hes back together). If its running don't bring that wussy m3 Sean, bring the mans car
