rattle in dash or near battery

Hey Guys,

This may sound like a really lame question, but here it is. I have a loud rattle coming from the dash or maybe in the area of the battery when I drive on rough roads. I was playing P-car technician and trying to find it...without success. Any of you had something similar to give me any idea of where to look?

Thanks in advance,

John

I had a rattle in what I thought was my dashboard. Took the P-tech for a ride and he immediately said it was the windshield seal had cracked. They popped out the windshield, re-applied adhesive, and put in a new windshield. There is a TSB on the problem

Don't know if it is the same as mine, but, I had a creaking dash at the passenger side. There is a PSB on it. The fix is to remove the entire dash, airbag etc, and put felt tape over joints where surfaces meet. Now, hopefully you can get your Porsche shop to pay for it. Chances are they will not get reimbursed from Porsche.

Hi Lou...

You're correct about Porsche not reimbursing the dealer. Mine says PCNA declined the warranty request, so I guess I'm just going to live with is. If not, it's a 2 day or $2k job just to fix that rattle.

That's kind of ****ty. My Porsche shop actually fixed it. We give them plenty of business, that is the least they can do.
