!*! What is wrong with this picture guys!*!
It is really disappointing see our cars selling this cheap. I knew it wasn’t going to be an investment when I was buying it, but really didn’t see this kind of a depreciation coming! Eventhough not very many of these were shipped to the States yet still depreciating like crazy. Look at this one!

What really bugs me about the current value of the 996TT is that it makes it possible for nearly anyone to own. When I was a kid I could only dream of having enough money to actually buy a Turbo Porsche someday. It was an exclusive vehicle and was out of reach for 99% of the population. Even the standard 911's were revered as something super special.
At the current going rate, a Porsche is anyone's car. That takes away from the specialness and appreciation of ownership that used to be part of the experience.

Boo Hoo..... Your average 996tt can be purchased by a kid coming out of college. Old men crying about how normal hard working people could afford this ??exclusive?? sports car. Depreciation happens... and when you couple that with a bad economy where people are shedding their toys (ie, porsches, etc) to a population that doesn't think it's the best time to be buying them. Prices go down and steals are being made.

Also the one listed is a high milage automatic.

It's a coupe, an automatic and has very high miles. All factors that lower the price. Combine it with an end of season and a tough economy and the price is not so out of range. I personally have a problem buying a car with that many miles on it.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. If it's stationary go for it. If it's gaining on you, haul ***.
