Question HELP! - What Does This CEL Mean?

My CEL light came on recently

I drove to the garage and they plugged their lap top in to see what the problem was

There were three error messages showing

Two of them said something about an oxygen sensor
(two sensors - different banks)

The other said I was outside the boost parameters (or something like that)

My car is completely stock with the exception of Forge DV's
I can only get 0.5 bar at present
Is this ok? do i have a leak? or is my engine worn?

The guy at the garage told me nothing made sense and he couldn't tell what was wrong until he had time to give it a proper check over

When I told him about the DV's he immediately said it was them and they should be replaced with porsche parts

What do you think? That doesn't seem right to me

And how would I be outside boost parameters if i'm only at 0.5 bar?

Any ideas? What other info might you need?
Thanks

Have you tried resetting the ecu? I believe if you disconnect the battery for 10 seconds or so it will reset the ecu. Are you getting .5 boost in 4th gear at WOT?

I believe you should be seeing .7 bar in 4th at WOT. You may be in limp mode. Do the reset and see what happens.

Also if you have the actual codes that will be helpful.

There should be more knowledgeable members chiming in soon.

Good luck.

Ok, I disconnected the battery - Damn that alarm is loud!!

Reconnected and started it up - CEL light has gone out

I went for a few runs afterwards, still seeing 0.4-0.5bar most of the time

However, during a few runs the car would stutter then pull, the boost guage would show anything upto 1.5bar!!

The stuttering seems to have stopped again and i'm back to 0.4-0.5 bar

Any more suggestions?

You should get your codes read. If you have a durametric code reader it will tell you what the trouble is.

http://www.durametric.com/buyus.aspx

How many miles do you have? When was the last time you changed your plugs? At what rpm does it start to sputter?

There is a small vacuum line the shapre of an L that connects your y-pipe to a throttle sensor that may have become disconnected.

It is located on the right side of the ypipe between the ypipe and the fuel cooler.

Anyone who knows what i'm talking about chime in on the details...

I've had this problem before... spikes up to 1.5 bar... then instant limp mode..

Car was running smooth prior to disconnecting the battery
It was just low on boost pressure

Does the ECU need to learn whats going on once the battery is reconnected?
Could that be the cause of the sputter?

I'll need to check when i get back this evening, but it seemed to calm down after a few runs

Is there a chance that I have loosed the pipe the DV's connect to?
Not the F hose - but the hose at the bottom of the DV's?

i agree with the others. some sort of boost leak. probably a loose or cracked boost hose.

Can the hose at the bottom of the DV's come loose?
I had to pull it about a bit whilst fitting them

Could i have done something here?
Or is it more likely that one of the hoses has blown off

Where are the hoses that need checking?

Just got back from doing a few more runs

No stuttering anymore - just smooth acceleration, upto 0.4-0.5 bar

How do i go about checking the hoses for leaks?
Is there an order or procedure to follow?
