Don't rely on carfax alone, also run others. Google the vin as well.
Have your local Porsche dealer run the VIN as well, see if they can give you the history without any 'confidential' info... you may need to 'schmooze' them a bit.
The Carfax guarantees are only good if YOU pay for it.
Finally, you're spending, what - $50k on a car and you can't drop a few bucks on a carfax account???

I bit the bullet and ordered both CarFax and AutoCheck reports.
I plan to speak with my RA next week and hopefully he will run service history for me.
