questions about Optima Battery

How long can you let the optima battery sit?

Also, I want to buy a porsche battery maintainer. WIll it be safe to use on a Optima Battery?

My optima would die after about 2 weeks of sitting, bought the Porsche Mainainer and shes always hot and ready to go
