I have a 6-speed 360 and have driven the F1. If I was tracking the car I'd get the F1. It's faster and would improve lap times imo. For street use, I enjoy shifting so I went with the 6-speed...

Is your comment from experience or are you just making it up?

As a 360 owner I have studied the values of them and I can tell you that not only does the F1 transmission not add a dime to resale, but right now the manual transmission version is much hotter in the resale market.

It is my understanding that the F430 will include the F-1 remapping found in the Stradale and will go 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Hard choice not to make if tracking at all. I have also recently spoken to my Ferrari dealer and he explained that the F430 will be unobtainable for all but a privileged few until 2006 at the earliest. I have confirmed with three dealerships that they will only take deposits from "current" clients. Congrats on your special treatment!

 

I think this is a very personal choice. I think it all depends on your preferences.

Having driven both, I prefer the manual transmission because I feel I am more involved with the car, more driver oriented.

If you really don't have a preference, go with the F1 because it's easier to use once you get used to it.

In the real world, most of the time, the F1 will beat the 6-Speed because there's really no margin for error. But if you know how to take advantage of a manual, it's gonna beat the F1 from a standstill. If on the track, the F1 probably has the advantage.

I'd say check out both if possible because I know the F1 trannys are making great improvements. Like MowBlowGo said, if Ferrari is remapping the F1 and it can do consistent sub 4s, that's very impressive.

 

F1 all the way. 6-speed is too old school in this case. It is a tool for more speed and something a Honda Civic cannot have.

 

I do agree with getting the F1 if you plan on tracking the car alot.
For the city I'll stick with the stick.
