Rob, I really did not pay too much attention to the sticker. Salesguy said it at PCCB, full leather interior, nav, but did not mention anything else. I guess if I had been interested I would have paid attention!

I also saw the 997S in person today at dealer. About 99k with PCM, PCCB, etc.

It looks better than in pictures. The front is better than original 996 front. Although I like the late C4S with turbo front better. The 997 is so well blended that there's nothing to catch your eyes. The design is a bit on the "safe" side.

The instrument cluster is pretty good. The steering wheel is thicker and feels nice. The center console have lots of small buttons, 51. You don't want to operate it while driving.

The black leather interior I saw was decent.
The lobster wheels look less threatening in person.

I'd not spend 100k on this. I'd rather get a GT3, or the AMV8!!!

Saw my first 997 at the dealer yesterday...when I looked inside at the interior, one thought came to mind...Audi or some other sport touring class car. Disappointing to say the least. The front bumper cover is terrible along with the jurassic period outside door handles. At least this happy 996 owner will not be yearning for a 997...

I think the AMV8 is going to take a big chunk out of 997 sales.

Went to the dealer for service today. I quickly checked the sticker on the black S I drove Saturday. The salesman told me the car was about $88-$89K - the car is $99K. Besides PCCBs ($8K), Full Leather ($3K+), PCM and a few other things, the car also has the Sport Seat option for $2600. Must be very similar to the 997Ss others have driven.

I went by a dealer today and saw a Seal Carrera and a Black "S." The standard Carrera did not have full leather and the interior looked AWFUL! The simulated leather/pressed vinyl looked ****. Porsche should be ashamed of themselves. The "S" with full leather looked much better, but costs more than $3k.

I thought the exteriors looked good. The cars looked longer and lower, maybe because of the shape of the bumpers, especially the front. Again, the "S" looked better with 19s.

The "S" listed for about $99k and had PCCB, leather, sport seats, NAV, and some other minor options.

Seems like Porsche's sending a lot of dealers a Seal Grey Carrera and a Black Carrera S.

I won't walk near any first gen model until they work out the bugs. The 997 is laden with too many new and unproven technology.

Very true. I'm a second or third year production guy.
