Lowering Spring Question for Eibach Fans and Techarts.

Hey everybody,

I have a 996 Turbo lowered with basic Eibach springs. They only make 1 kit so it is called the Pro-Kit I think. The car seems really low in the rear. I put on my 19x11 Techarts with Michelin PS2's 315/25/19, no spacers with ET25, a combo that has never, ever rubbed before and my turbo seems to be sitting on the tire. My question is this, are eibach springs really that low? Are the PS2's known to be a wider tire than the Conti Sport Contact 2's?

I can't wrap my head around this one. I figured my shocks were blown, car has 20k miles on it so I replaced them with new OEM units and the car got tighter in the rear but did not fix the issue. Now the only thing I can guess is that the Eibach's are too low OR maybe since the Eibach's were used when I got them, maybe they are not for a Turbo?

Anybody with Eibach's care to chime in? Any help is great.

Thanks

HAHAHAHAHA,

So I just checked all of google, and the Eibach site. It seems there is NO spring kit for a 01-05 Turbo. So whatever I have in there is really not right. God am I an idiot.

LOL. i think they do make lowering springs for the turbo (H&R lowering springs?). but something doesn't sound right if you're car is sitting on the tires LOL

do it right and get coilovers bro

Problem is these wheels... the offset is way to much IMO... even on stock suspension a few years ago I had passengers in the rear and they were rubbing... only way around this if you wish to keep springs and wheels is to roll arches and add some more neg camber. BTW great wheel... little bit on the heavy side but solid wheel.

just to share, i believe there is a specific camber you MUST run with the TechArt wheels ET25mm

when I got my TechArt wheels from CEC, they had a paper from TechArt stating that you must run a certain camber for the wheels to work.

could that the problem? i don't have the paper anymore, you could give CEC or TechArt a call

i'm running the same setup with H&R coilovers and TechArt wheels lower than GT2 and the only rubbing issue with the fender and that was solved after i rolled my rear fenders

I've gotten mismatched springs from Eibach on two occations right out of the box. You don't find out until its too late. Then Eibach won't pay for the labor to replace them. I won't buy Eibach springs ever again.

You should have gotten coilovers, springs make the car feel like a slop bucket, sorry!

You'll need to roll the fenders as there is no adjustability for you to play with!
