Red face Just finished my clutch accumulator job

Wow ! What can I say, what a cumbersome task. Fortunately it was only the accumulator and not the pump.

Swapping the item itself takes like 5 minutes. That's the good news. I spent a couple of hours shopping for and custumizing the right tools.

My problem was that the accumulator that was on the car needed a size 22 wrench (a 996 part), where the one I had to exchange it with was a size 27 (they will now send you the 997 part when you order the item). As a result, I had to cut down 2 large wrenches and then grind down the head of the wrench so it can be used in the confined space where the action takes place.

I am still wondering why Porsche designed and placed the accumulator this way ???? Must be to draw some traffic to their maintenance departments.

Glad I did it though. Should only take one hour next time around :-)

Make sure she's tight (https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ng-up-car.html) and bleed the system (front reservoir to slave cylinder)

Thanks. Yeah, it's very tight and I'm going to check regularly over the next couple of days.
How do I 'bleed' the system ? I checked the front reservoir and everything seemed to be OK.

I found it in the manual (after Mikelly did some research with Pcar experts). Use a pressure bleeder on the front reservoir, bleed at the clutch slave cylinder.
