Finally Found the 996tt - Pricing help please
The car checked out good after a detailed PPI . It has minor swirls and scratches but everything else is great. Thanks Markski for recommending the Rich at Loeber - fantastic detailed inspection as always. So finally after 3 months of looking around I will be ready to join the 996tt community. I will be picking up the car tommorow and head straight to the detail shop and then the fun begins.
How many miles on the 05? Miles can be a killer on these cars from what i have seen. Especially if its over 50k.
i think 50K, you bring up a good point, my thought is even with that major difference the 02 is overpriced. one guy on the lambopower board is trying to sell his murci roadster that he paid 386 for at 250K and its not even close to selling..

I had done the PPI on the car and the car checked out good. Asked the dealer to fax the buyers order on Tuesday evening to my bank so that i can come in and pick up my car on Wednesday morning with a check. The salesman told me he had my new keys and paperwork ready on Tuesday and the car was mine. But when I called the Porsche Exchange,Chicago dealership at 9 am yesterday, they told me to call back in 2hrs beacuse they couldnt find the car- then I kept calling till i finally spoke to the branch manager who told me the car was sold to someone else. This is just so unprofessional and plain shocking to me especially after the sale specalist told me the car was mine and they had no apologies. He said he will investigate and let me know friday.
Long story short they closed the book on my deal, because they found someone who offered 54k in the morning. The branch manager and the sales guy kept blaming each other for this mistake.
From my standpoint its extremely unprofessional attitude they have shown after a committment was made.
So bottomline ...i am back in the market and $300 poorer after the PPI. Thanks Markski for coming over ...hopefully i will find something good soon.

that bites bro...I feel your pain. that happened to me a long time ago too. I had actually bought a plane ticket to fly out and drive a car home, thankfully the *******s were nice enough to tell me before I left for the airport...
That would have been bad. In my case i took a day off work , and my wife a doc was at home waiting to give me a ride to go pick up the car. Basically the whole day was wasted, they called me to confirm the car was sold only at 4PM.
it's unfortunate that a dealer will trade integrity for a couple bucks. At least now you know where NOT to buy car!!! I looked for months all over the country, just missing the "perfect" cars by days and ended up buying one 15min from my house. Be patient and Good luck in your hunt!!!
Wow sorry man that sucks... especially after having it PPI'd. I dealt with them in the past and found them to be very arrogant and unaccomodating. Your time and money wasted meant nothing to them.
We will keep our eyes open for you, I bet we can find something even better. Sorry about your loss on this one. I would be fuming! I would send them the bill for the PPI, I'm sure they used your PPI to sell the car.
Contact the dealer and speak strongly to be reimbursed for monies spent. Did you have some sort of CSC(conditional sales contract) drawn up? Were there any conditions?
Do you have a governing body over the dealerships there in your state?
I used to be sales manager for a dealership and there are tons of things you can do.
But it all depends if you want to do something about it or not....
If yes let me know ill see how I can help.....if not.... dont worry, cars depreciate by the minute...its not the last one out there.... You may find something better, newer, lowers kms, for same$$ or even less... We are going into winter and ppl are selling toys left and right.... SORRY for the agravation... its things like this that gives the industry such a harsh reputation...

They may talk the talk, with nice offices and receptionists, but they are generally scum***s.
Without a faxed agreement, your shouldn't have spent a penny.
We'll find one for ya....

That really sucks, but I think is a blessing in disguise as there are better deals out there. And as someone said, these are depreciating rapidly in this economy. It'll work out for the best in the end!
