I am having a rattling noise when in the lowers gears going up hills and under heavy load (1-3K RPMs). I took out the drive shaft to help pinpoint the problem. After removing the shaft I do not notice the noise anymore. The sound is best described as marbels rattling around in a tin can, similar to the LWFW noise. If I drop it in 3rd gear doing 20mph up a hill (2,000 RPM) it is very loud.

So can this be a failing diff? I did dyno the car on a Dynodynamics 4-wheel a few months ago and probably heated up the diff pretty good. The car seems to drive fine.

 

I got one for sale if necessary.

Is the sounded louder than you're LWFW, and the same sound? I've never heard anything other than my LWFW sound like that.
