Just the same as porting, they look better! There is no point in doing any of this to the 911 turbo engine for any of us....oh, and the usual caveat...IMO

...and another useless bit of information...the 997TT uses 996TT headers. Same headers, same part number.

i cant beleive that people say theres no differance in porting and polishing , i noticed quite a bit of a diff. my turbos spooled a good bit faster. and seemed to be alot better through out the power band..

I got in on a deal and bought a set of GT2 headers that I had ported and polished...then read that the OEM headers that are ported do just as well....(if not better??) than the upgrades. I should have either done more research or dyno'd before and after, but couldn't find a local AWD dyno around here. I'm not sure if I spool faster or not....the only thing I know for sure is that the headers did give the mufflers a slightly deeper and more aggressive sound. I'm wondering if I made an unnecessary expenditure....

I would assume that the gt2 headers are the same as the x50/K24 cars and therefore the same as the stock k16 cars, so yes, I would say you made an unnecessary expenditure depending on what you spent (and if all these posts about the headers being the same are true)

CJ, You didn't waste your money, especially if you eventually intend to upgrade your turbos to 18G or bigger. There are plenty of dyno documented gains with headers and stock turbos, but more significant improvements are seen in the higher power setups (>600hp).
