Engine oil changing using a 'top sider' ?

I have a "Mighty Vac" which I've used very successfully to suck the oil out of various engine sumps in readiness for an oil change.

I was thinking about attempting the some technique on my 996 TT - always assuming the thin plastic pipe can find its way down to the bottom of the oil tank.

I guess it probably wouldn't get all the oil out, but if done on a regular basis it might be better than waiting 12 months for scheduled oil change.

Any thoughts or comments ?

PeterK is infamous around these parts
I doubt it will work on a dry sump car.

Even if you get all the oil out of tank you wont get any from the engine . and Turbo drip pans.
