Road course rubber
I have Sport Conti 3's now for street use. Looks like I should buy a set of the Mich's and mount to my second set of wheels for the AX stuff. Thanks for the advice. I grant you all rep points...
I would have gone w/ hybrid GT 28's for a road course car, Todd.
You have way to much power now for a puny AX.
The only track you would like for your car is TWS, and you aren't really set up for that either.
I use the road course to improve my street driving skills. W/ your set up I would go w/ Nitto R comps and stay out of the rain. If you want to work on your driving skills, we (Urbanspeed) are going to rent out the new MSR Kart track and the bad *** 100 plus MPH Karts they have.

The AX course seems pretty tight and small. The car can't really stretch it's legs huh? I would rather go to TWS. Let me know next time you plan to go, I want to tag along. I also want to do the karts.
Todd,
I just got off the phone w/ Ben. He is well connected at MSR and we are organizing a Karting event for next month on their new track. It will be in conjunction with Vinods Urbanspeed event on Sunday. We will meet up at Urbanspeed, eat, drive out to MSR and get down to some serious Karting and possibly some racing (my primary goal is to work on my driving skills).
The word is, and this is from serious competative road course veterans/racers, that this course is phenomenal! We are trying to work something out so that for less than 150 smackers you get a Kart, some instruction and use of the course for the day.

Most definately in on the Kart thing!! Sounds great. Check out both PCA and www.thedriversedge.net for TWS events (there are others also). I have done several and will continue very much to do so next year, a lot of fun and you will learn a lot.
The Toyo R888's and the Nitto's are supposedly the same compound but the Nitto's, the R888's (edit *) have a tread pattern that doesn't render them useless in the wet by the way. I'd still recommend two sets of wheels though for track and road, get some stylish wheels for the streets and use your stock 18's for the track, they are perfect.

Post some details for the Karting, I think I might be able to rope in a couple more guys possibly also, something that might be fun also there could be a team endurance race..
It is being coordinated by Ben Moores (a former instructor at MSR) myself and Vinod Ramani in conjunction with his first class Urbanspeed events. That means there will be excellent catering/food and a drive out there. We are looking at mid January or possibly sooner.
This will be on a different level. I'm going to get the details ironed out soon. I'll post something soon.
