There are a few possibilities, from a fuse to dropping the front suspension to get at the tank (as I recall). Search will be your friend:

Happened to me, there is a electromechanical valve inside the filler neck- check fuses, I want to say E6 or C6 something like that, replacing the blown fuse fixed it. I'll do some searching and correct if I find it.
Yep: Found it, here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...into-tank.html

1. check the fuse (E6)
2. there is a valve in the fuel neck that sometimes fails (fuel bleeder valve)
3. there was an old TSB (TSB 5/99 2015) for fuel hose modification....but I don't think it effects your car.

It happened to me also, I kept going to different gas stations thinking it was the
filler hose. You can open that filler neck valve with a long straight object (like
a wooden dowel, or an aluminum driveway reflector stem).
Then fix the fuse.
