Can't put gas into tank
Can't put gas into tank
Strange.
I get about 1/4 gallon into the tank and then it stops. I turned the nozzle to the left, right, and up-side-down. No way - the car just does not want to take the gas. It just makes a mess and gas runs out over the top.
That should be a good thing at $5/gallon.
I think the car has some valve that supposedly shuts seals in the tank if you roll over. Could this valve be stuck closed?
Has this happened to anyone before?

Hey Sam,
No, I actually went to a second gas station and tried there. Same story. I felt pretty stupid getting gas for $3 in Porsche not a moped.
Two odd tricks seam to help me. 1. Leave the engine running and 2. Flip the nozzle over so that the "trigger" faces the driverside instead of away from the car.

You are going to laugh at this...but.....
Turn the nozzle upside down when you put it into the car, this should solve the problem 99% of the time. I've given this tip out to people at gas stations and they look all puzzled when i tell them...but it solves the problem. Just means you have to sit there and pump instead of letting it do the work on it's own.
This happens to my GTO about every 3rd time at the gas station.

Mine did it a few times. Took a piece of SS rod, 2.5mm, about 15" long and fished it down. Left it in place when filling, it prevents the stupid valve from closing.
Finally took it to the dealer and, guess what? Could not duplicate.
Hasn't done it again for 6 months. Still have the wire in the trunk.
Anyway, there is a valve- it can be a mechanical fault of the valve or an electrical problem with control. If it is the valve I hear it is a pretty big job to drop the tank and get at it....
