Question '04 porsche 996 TT cab (tip) would you buy a tip ? will shared with wifey

We are considering getting a 4th car and it HAS to be an Auto so my wife can enjoy it as well.

I had a '02 C4 cab / speed yellow / 6 speed / HRE / exhaust / short shifter / and modded the hell out of it even installed a GT2 bumper.

So the question, how is the performance of the Tip in the '04 996 TT cab's. Would you buy one ???

Please share your thoughts

I have a 04 cab Tip. I love it; my wife likes it; my kids don't like it because the height is low for them and the exhaust is too loud for music. They don't sit in the back... too old.

Performance wise, she is so fun with mods. I could do 0-100 in 7.5 before my last mods. A cab is a tank... but mine is a fast tank.

If the wife wants an auto then you will both be happy with any turbo tip. Plenty fast and very easy to drive fast and hard. Enjoy.

I bought my tip because the wife wanted to drive it too. I've had 2 freaking tips now (so she could drive too) and she hasn't driven one of them yet!!!

I bought mine for the same reason, she hasn't driven the car since we had it more than a year ago.

There are a number of factors to consider....one of course you've mentioned being the wife might like to drive it, and the tip is much easier. Other factors though are your age (bad knee on the clutch or other arthritic issues can be troublesome) and the traffic conditions....if your'e in heavy traffic, a 6 speed can be tiresome if the traffic is stop and go for any length of time. Also hilly country like San Francisco makes the clutch a trickey maneuver on stop and go traffic when navigating in the hills.

Where did all the men go? Buy a manual, use another car to teach the wife how to drive a stick.

+ 1. Sports car and automatic are mutually exclusive.

Wife drives the CTT and an auto Altima.

What's wrong with you guys. Grow some *****. It's like if a wife would like a boob job and you'd say "ok, as long as I get one too". I dont know what the situation is but unless the funds for the car are 50/50 I'm not settling for less than what I actually want.

I got a tip thou, for myself, I hate traffic and I'm on the phone/taking notes/blackberry a lot.

You guys spoil your women too much

I voted with my pocketbook and have a 04 X50 Cab tiptronic. I love it. Bought it because I liked it.

I love the 'sports cars can't be automatic posts'. Yeah, right.
