I wouldn't say that, it IS an 05 S Cab with 8k miles.... If you have the money, why not. It is just that currently, 996TT are coming into the affordability range of much larger population set, people that would not even consider them before, so they are trying to get "the best deal".

To me, what you did is pretty much bought a brand new car, so congrats, and enjoy!!

Thanks for sharing, TK

myfirstTT is infamous around these parts
1 - $39,000
2 - January, 2009
3 - 2001 - 60,000 Miles - pretty heavily optioned appearance (GT2 front bumper and ground effects, but bone stock guts).
4 - 45,000
5 - Bought a warranty - don't want to take chances with that many miles

halluz is infamous around these parts
1. 55,400 (additional 400 for the 3M clear bra)
2. October 07
3. 2001/33k miles
4. No bargaining on this one - bargained on the trade-in
5. Bought an aftermarket warranty that covered almost everything including some wear and tear parts for $1800. My first warranty service was more than $2000 so it already paid for itself.

- An X50 that a friend of my dads was looking to get rid of the car which had not been driven since 2006, so I figured it would be a great car to pick up drive for a few months and eventually sell. In this market however, I will probably have the car for a while.

Well, you did better than I. I bought right before the decline in pricing. But I love the car. Signed up for track days this year - looking forward to that.

1) How much did you pay for your used 996TT? $85k for an '04 X50 Cabriolet
2) When did you buy it? May 2008
3) Year and mileage? 2004 - 11k
4) What was the original price, and how much did you bargain down? $99k -$14k
5) Did it come with the warranty, or did you buy one, or neither? Negotiated for 2 years factory CPO

I still love driving the car. It's my daily-driver/grocery-getter when I leave the house. I work at home so no commute. When CPO warranty expires will consider ECU tune to kick up the ponies.

1. $46k
2. March 26, 2009
3. 2001 - 40,400 miles
4. $46k (no room to bargain for the seller, and I inherited a few choice modifications so was OK with the price since Fikse wheels and the replica GT2 front bumper cover are things I would have paid to add later)
5. No warranty

1) 43k
2) 8/08
3) 02' 49K
4) ebay auction, it was my first and only bid above min bid. I was shell-shocked when no one else out-bid after several days.
5) no & no

It was stone stock, have painted wheels black, bought a unichip from fellow 6speeder, JIC from Vivid (i think, maybe some other vendor), speedtech 60mm exhaust direct, and B&M SS from eric the bpg. have a very well sorted car for just about $50K. i'm stacking on mileage as it's the cheapest ($ wise) car I've bought in a while..

1) 78k
2) Late Feb 2009
3) 2005 Turbo "S" Cabriolet Absolutely Stock Never Tracked, With (3m Clear Bra)
4) 5k
5) Remaining Porsche Warranty, No after Market

Also Bought Car Sight unseen from an InterNet Dealer. Had a Local Reputable Porsche Dealer check the car out for $127, worth every penny to hear the words " This is like a brand new car" DME shows no redlines, No agresive driving, how they can tell I do not know. Only problem they found was cosmetic and a small grease mark on the Convertible top.
