My road to 500 rwhp (hopefully)
Nice power bro!
Tony: Is there anyway to get the A/F ratio a little bit more stable, or is this normal for P-cars? I was speaking with Edwin and typically you want that curve to be straight as possible at WOT. However, I've never tuned a P-car and do not know if this is typical due to boost.

If only it were as easy as the LS1 world
Keep in mind I say this not to mock anyone, because my previous car was the 4th 8second LS1 in America 4 years ago. My brother still has a MTI LS2 427 w/ a 300 shot so we still have to play around with the tuning a lot on her.
Getting a solid a/f is not as easy as it is with the LS1. I know Mike @ G-Force and Jayson at MTI have it nailed down to the T with HP-Tuners and LS1Edit, but the me7.1 or whatever we have in the 996TT which has over 1000+ fuel maps that have to be edited. This is compared to the VE Table, Low Octane Table, and High Octane Table on the LS1. They factor in EVERY variable. Yes you can change them, but to make it a flat line would be almost impossible.

Steve datalogged the car through the diagnostic port. The af being recorded through the ecu is much smoother and more stable.
For what its worth, the af graph above is more stable then 95%+ non-epl 996tt's we have dyno'ed here in the shop.
Tony, thanks for your help and your post-purchase help/assistance.
Thanks guys
Thanks guys

Thanks Stacy

Jason had a fast car and the first time we ran, he beat me, but looking at the time slip, I noticed after a subsequent run, that I was getting close to his ET and Trap both. So about 6 months later I see his 'vette one car behind me and in the other lane at LSMSP. After pissing off three rednecks with about 8 teeth between them, I got Jason up there thinking I was gonna get the best of him this time. I think I had race gas this time and a drop-in filter, and figured it would be enough to atleast run neck and neck. Well he jumped out a car right off the bat and finished 5+ cars in front. So when I pulled around to the shack to grab my "horrible" time slip I didn't even look at it. He pulled up to me laughing that he'd had a cam and other things done since then and had just ran a 10.8 or something. I then looked down and saw a 11.65 at 125 on my stock K16's.
Jason seems like a fun guy to be around. Hope to see you both in Mexico, soon.
Haha!

Racing is racing. You never let the cat out of the bag until you're sure it works. That was a solid run. I saw you coming on the big end.
I'm trying to convince Edwin to race the car but not sure if he is taking the bait.
I'm not much for racing on the Mexican autopista anymore, but I'm always down for some runs at LSMSP. The Mexico runs usually involve red eye flights that the wifey isn't too fond of. However, I'm always on the lookout for Dr. Jitsu on the way home since he is in Sugarland.

Jason is definitely a handful and he's one of my best friends... real good guy that you can always trust and depend one... hard to find nowadays

I see all this data. I like it too. But after ging over and over the best setup for my 993 turbo Todd K. and Akram from Motorwerk seem to think that the K16/16g over the K24/20G for the 993 will be best all around as well as most cost concsious. Who is a 6speeder that has 16g's on a 993? The engine is out already top end work being done. What the plan so far is... Per Todd K. and Akram:
k16/16G upgrade
lwfw/sachs clutch
60lb injectors
exhaust upgrade
air fitler
wg controller
ecu flash (protomotive)
GT2 evo cams and new valvetrain
new ignition
Billet Diverters
5 bar fpr
Everything listed is from Protomotives recipe book.
I am hoping for a fast 993, Nothing to save the world about I guess, Just grins and fun.
