It looks like it had GT3 seats.

I knew Rene....VERY SAD...family will undoubtedly suffer. We knew of the accident while we were staying only a few clicks from the track. Police were understandably VERY "uptight".
A very close friend of mine lives in Spa and has posted me on the subsequent investigations as such.
Most younger drivers/participants at Spa have never driven it in it's original configuration-adding several miles of country roads to the existing circuit.
It has been known.....some want to take an opportunity to try the original circuit and go through the towns surrounding Spa at race speeds.
I would believe that now...ANYONE caught trying this will face a heap of trouble with the local authorities.
Interestingly....the slowest I ever drive is going to/from a racetrack, whether in practice or race.
Poles, trees, concrete stantions/ ends of guardrails, these are objects that inevitably slice through a chassis like hot knife through butter.
With all of the collision work we do....objects such as trees do the most damage.
BTW-the chief reason that Spa was shortened was the incredible speeds on the old part of the circuit through the small villages!-havefuntakenochancesdriveporsche-Mark

Doubtful, but I bet a fully welded rollcage (not bar) would have increased the chances significantly.
