***need some help with a clutch***
What's up guys? I'm looking to do a clutch and was wondering if a light weight fly wheel makes a big difference in performance. Help a brother out. Thanks. HOLLYWOOD
It will be a noticable improvement in how fast it revs, however it takes some getting used to, and you might have to alter your tune a bit. It will be easier to stall, if you don't. Make sure you get a known popular setup. I'm sure people will chime in with their kit recommendations and opinions...
Dammmn Mondi......Where've you been bro. You gotta come along on the next run man. We've been missing you. As far as the LWFW its a little noisy at idle but you will definitely see the difference how much faster you will get to redline. I have it done on my GT2 so if you wanna check it out before you buy let me know.

A good clutch is the most important element in modding a car. If it does not hold up the power then no good. A good clutch with a good grip may add up to 30HP to your car. As far as LWFW, it is a must have IMO. You may not like the noise but then again we are talking about P cars, they do make some noise. GL
What's up Raudel? Yeah bro I wana see your car... I havn't seen it since you finished it. But yeah that would be great, to see us car first. I don't wana do it and regret it.. and I don't, NOT wana do it and regret it.. but guys thanks for the help. I knew I could count on my fellow 6SPEEDERS to help. HOLLYWOOD
I don't think my pedal release is very high and I have the LWFW. Never heard of the LWFW causing this..... ?

yeah, mine is a little higher with LWFW. I THINK you can mess with the linkage on the pedal and change the pivot point to get it a little lower. Gonna check it out soon...if someone else does, please post!
the grab point has nothing to do with a lwfw... and all to do with the clutch installed
imo i would stick to the stock dual mass flywheel... and invest in a great clutch talk to wes over at titan tell him what your looking for and the hp your running and he will get you set up

Right. When my clutch was done we used a pucked disc and it let up REALLY high. I didn't like it for many reasons. We changed to an organic full face disc and now it lets up much lower, but not quite as low as stock. I am going to see if the pedal can be adjusted by the linkage to take up the little bit that I need.
I'm looking for a clutch system also---same boat and still confused after reading these threads. My car will build boost and from 4-6k on the tach, she just spools up but the car doesn't seem to build a lot of speed. I know I need a clutch this winter, but there are many considerations...
I bought the GMG clutch and LWFW kit last year. The pedal feel and engagement feel exactly like my stock DMFW. Absolutely no slippage and very little noise. The biggest difference is the quick revs and acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear. Clutch engagement has nothing to do with a LWFW, it depends on the clutch package you buy. The heavier duty the clutch, the more likely you will have a late engagement.

I was in the same boat as you, confused at clutch time, that is.
My advice to you is to buy a "known, good working clutch" from a reputable vendor here on the 6. Instead of taking that advice, I experimented and did it twice. Try to drive the different setups if you can, they all feel different.
