Hi, my name is Donald Trump, you might know me from TV as I'm on a lot. What do you think of my new personalized plate: IHAVASMLPNIS
I think it really sums up what I'm trying to get across with personalized plates. I was going to go with IMALOSRANDHAVNOFRIENDS but it was taken or has too many letters or something.

Sometimes but not always, depends on one's motives; it's not always "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M AWESOME."

I saw a Porsche in town last week with the plate "BYEGONE"

"Let bygones be bygones" very creative I must say

And a new GT3 that was at the Porsche dealership with the plate "DRV2LRN"

wow pretty harsh...

I don't think he wants the plate to show off... he just wants it because he can, and think thats pretty cool...

Well, I'll just take it as the author probably meant it to be taken: All in fun! I've actually met Donald Trump and he's a pretty cool guy.

My girlfriend lives in Vegas, we were just commenting on how easy it is to get a good vanity plate there. Here in CA almost everything that you could think of has been taken. But here's a good one for a GT2 that's probably available there in NV. How about GT2 Go. People who don't know GT2's will think it means Got 2 Go. I dunno, just thought it would be fun to do a play using the GT2 monicker.

It also helps that I just finished (lost) a certain high profile trial where my client, OJ Simpson, got whacked. So for me, the cop issue is more of an inside joke rather than any kind of taunt. But I agree, the cop tags are towards the bottom of my preference list.
The car in itself makes such a great statement. In my opinion attaching a written thought to a it diverts attention . It can even detract . Some will even remove the model designation while others display it only to clarrify a fact.

A non conformist statement may have its appeal but as stated it grabs attention and it's not just the police that view it but anyone else on the road too. This leaves it open to interetation by a large audience .

Can you really know that some stranger may view it in the same light as you expect?

Obviously its your car and if part of enjoying it is to have this customized plate then I wish you the best . I would pass though . Good luck either way.

Good idea. I'm sure it's available. Another one I was thinking about is GT2 OMG. Thanks for the suggestion.

I appreciate your input, and understand the sentiment about not drawing attention to a car which already draws attention. I need to think about it because you are not the first one who has expressed this philosophy. The bottom line for me is that a "vanity" plate is just for fun.

I'm a pretty boring guy, married 23 years, 5 kids, go to work and come home, Don't drink or smoke. No girlfriends or other "drama", (Apart from those a$$holes Man United beating my Chelsea 3-0 a couple of week ago) My single "hobby" is my cars, and I really pride myself in possessing very unique vehicles. Part of that, I guess, is having a unique plate that expresses something. My M Coupe has the plate "MTHEORY", which is a play on the M aspect of the car and also expresses my love for Physics (I know, it's weird: for those who don't know, "M Theory" is the latest formulation of what has become known as the "string theory" of Quantum Mechanics).

So I don't make that big of a deal about personalized plates. Also, I remember reading somewhere that Clark County (Las Vegas) has the highest percentage of personalized plates of any county in the US. It's almost as if having a vanity plate in Vegas is being a conformist.
