Poll: Help me with my personalized plate
I have to register my car by February 2, 2009 and I want a personalized plate. I'm allowed up to 7 spaces. What do you guys think about the ideas I've listed below. All of them are available in Nevada. Some are pretty ballsy in a GT2. Vote for your favorite one, and if you have a suggestion for a plate, let me know.
Why would you even think about a personalized plate that attracted the attention of the Highway patrol by some reference to them? That's almost like a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The car itself is a big enough attraction.
Let me clarify the cop issue. I'm a criminal defense attorney who knows many of the cops in town. I can assure you that most know me. I have a very good relationship with all the police I know. My brother is a cop who teaches at the police academy, so through him most cops know me. It also helps that I just finished (lost) a certain high profile trial where my client, OJ Simpson, got whacked. So for me, the cop issue is more of an inside joke rather than any kind of taunt. But I agree, the cop tags are towards the bottom of my preference list.
Theory: Well I have to admit, that helps me understand your logic a bit better. I was beginning to wonder if you had the survival instincts of a Kamikaze pilot. Just make sure you keep driving in the jurisdictions where you are known. California CHP may not understand the inside joke.
BTW...really sorry to see OJ was convicted. I was so upset, I went into the bathroom and tore up all the tissue.

I thought you were kidding about the OJ thing so I googled it and sure enough you came up standing next to him.

Where did you come up with TTboost, Thats pretty good!!!
I actually have a vanity plate here and I am thinking of giving it up, simply for the ease of remembrance. Even if you go flying by the local constabulatory, a quick glance is all it takes to remember.

That's the main reason I don't go for the personalized plate....loss of anonymity. Once they spot that plate, if there was ever an event before where they saw you make a fast lane change, beat a light or whatever....it just reaffirms their mental lock-on mechanism. You might as well be driving one of those "FOLLOW ME" trucks that escort the aircraft to their berths. Since you're an attorney, this is no admission of guilt either tacitly implied or overtly stated.
That rule only applies to racing. I want to stay free to drive another day...By bagging my plate, I can increase my odds of not getting caught, besides of course not exceeding the speed limit
My 996s both have regular/unanimous plates, nothing personalized about them, i've had enough of the county cops here - if they find out i've switched cars on them (used to be in an SRT8 Jeep) they'll start pulling my *** over in those now.
So i'm trying to stay off their radar screen so to speak, but being in a turbo doesn't help.

I saw it on some guy's username online! Very creative.

But both my M Coupe and GT2 are so unique that this would probably happen with a personalized plate or not.[/quote]
I think the vanity plate would GUARANTEE recognition. I am slowly but surely ditching my plates. I have had "1turbo", "2turbo", and "Boost" on my bike.
