Alternator

I got my alternator from http://www.autohausaz.com/, and replaced it with a DIY from this site. Good luck

The alternator is hard as hell to align, I had to use (you are going to cringe) a rubber hammer and a pry bar to get this thing into place. It is hard to do so don't be afraid to use some force. Just watch what you use as a lever arm, I actually bent a bracket out of place but was able to bend it back.

Do I need to take out anything else besides what's on the DIY? I went with divexxtreme's tip not to take out the oil bracket and just slide the alternator to the left.

I got mine in without removing anything else, it is an extremely tight fit but you can force it in.

Any "special" tips on how you got it in? or you just started to hammer away?

I do have a mallet and a pry bar ...

I used the pry bar more than the hammer and only hammered it in for fine adjustment. Be careful where you hammer and pry. It took me a total of 3 hours to replace the alternator one hour of which was spent trying to get this thing lined up to bolt in.
