PSM, ABS and Generator Light on

I am getting the same problems with ABS and PSM light on but also get Generator failure. The voltage reading goes to max - 16 volts and the air con goes off but the headlights work fine. Yesterday was the second time it happened. I pulled off the road and turned it off and on again for abot 5 secs but the problem was still there. I took the car home and turned it off and then on again after 10 secs. The problem disappeared. No body seems to mention generator failure. Could this be a problem with the alternator?

Could be a bad MAF, check the codes.

Do you know why I would get a Generator Failure problem? Also when the codes are on, I done seem to get any boost / engine power.

The raods in the Philippines are very bumpy. Togther with the JIC Cross, there is alot of vibration in the car and engine bay. I also regularly get a Spoiler Sensor Malfunction, probably due to the nature of the roads. I took the car for a spirited run today with no warning lights. Stevo, not sure what you meant by "did yours show change the gears correctly". I have a manual.

Stevo, do you recommend to replace the alternator? I have a 2003 model with 24,000 miles. I just don't want to have a battery problem one night and lose all power.

I remember hearing that someone with the PSM ABS lights had a problem with voltage. They changed the alternator and the PSM ABS lights extinguished. Search some of the PSM ABS threads. Good luck.

Alternator..

I had the exact same problem and it was on my 02 w/ 21K miles (generator failure +PSM+ABS). This happened after I buffed the car and so I think that I may have gotten the alternator wet when removing buffer spray from the rear fins. Anyway, I replaced the alternator with instructions on this site and all the lights went away. I advise you not to drive it until you do this as electrical items will fail until you are stranded. Let me know if you have questions, good luck!

Checked the codes with my Durametric cable. This is what I am seeing:

9130 Power Supply Cleared
9114 PCM Control Unit Cleared
9101 Can Drive bus Cleared
9133 61 Low with engine running Cleared
9150 Spoiler Control Cleared
P0563 Porsche Fault Code107- Supply Voltage Cleared
Heating and AC
38 Unknown DTC Unable to clear
Alarm - Unable to clear
16 Signal from airbag
11 Voltage failure during Alarm
34 Interior sensor faulty
10 Voltage failure at terminal 30
60 Central locking limit position
54 Radio receiver defective
33 Interior sensor faulty

When I check ABS/PSM 5.7 Panel, I get the following coming up:
Brake distribution
PSM
ABS

I can clear them then turn off engine to clear check light on instrument panel. Any suggestions here? Thanks

Those are a whole lot of codes, definitely not a bad MAF. Seems like it could be a bad alternator since all those electrical related codes popped up.

I have no durametric tester however, my car started to have more things fail (more dash lights) as I would use it and further drain the battery. One quick way that you can test if these are all failing due to insufficient voltage is to fully charge the battery. When I charged the battery the lights went away and only the generator light remained. (although I think it went away for a short while)

The first time I go all the lights come on, I fully charged the battery. That was about 6 week before it happened the second time. I suspect a faulty alternator.
