X50 hardware differences or diff in 01-03 in general

So I'm looking at possibly getting an X50 thats for sale here and I was curious.. I've tried searching through the forums on various keywords and I'm not having alot of luck, so I'll just ask.

Is the only hardware difference with the X50 the K24s, the upgraded IC's and the exhaust? I dont care about PCCB..

I saw another thread where it was mentioned that the x50 might have had a different transmission and another where it was said it had a different clutch, but I cant confirm them.

If the x50 only has those 2 things is it worth buying an 03 over just getting an 01 non x50 and saving some $$?

Any major mechanical differences in non x50 01-03? Id heard something about transmission changes in 03 or some change to the AWD.

Just wondering if i should grab a lower miles 01-02 or go for the more expensive 03 x50 that has almost 40k.

Thanks for any information you can share.

Readers digest version:

X50 = K24s, GT2 ICs, ECU programming, GT3 oil pump, dual exhaust tips,

There are no differences in transmission in 996TTs (PN's are the same). Clutch is the same except for clutch disk.

Basic differences between 01 and newer is electronics and cosmetic (e.g., MOST, glove box). Depends on the price difference and whether you are going to mod it as to whether it is worth it.

X50 is desireable...it was a 16K option....but you pay a very small premium for it. Maybe not worth the premium if you plan to mod the car. X50 is something like 30 hp more than non-X50. Condition and mileage more important in price than options often.
