these might be worth a look then pretty sure BBI uses these guys

the difference is $37.25 and a porsche branded box. they are both 997 coils for the 996 turbo. get the 40 dollar ones lol
Add: have NO idea what theyre talking about about needing longer hold down bolts. i didn't need anything different at all. but then i already had superseded/updated 997 coils!
i just RE-read it. it means if you want to spend the extra money to buy the "02" part ( updated?! ) then you'll need the longer hold down bolts(?) but what for and why spend 87$ when 40$ beru's are fine. the 40 coils work just fine and are beru. at least mine did!
edit2 dont be fooled by that "need different bolts" bs... but 1148's suggestion is good. call em to confirm.

even pelican gets sh*t wrong on their site. just happened to me w brake pads. they said 996 turbo and they sent me 986 BOXTER pads. i was PISSED, but my buddy swapped em out of the trunk of his car. who carries fresh 996t textars in their trunk!? a good friend to have, thats who lol. like the snap on truck.. only tt parts

Who know. I'm doing the coils/plugs in spring and will get the Porsche 997= hey I like the Porsche boxes. I do buy some OEM non Porsche parts but since I don't buy that much for the 996t usually just get the P stuff.
cmon slider lol. they are beru or bosch: all oem. that hardly qualifies as the "cheapest"!
you just found ( and swear by ) the most EXPENSIVE!.. which is fine too, but dont get it twisted. not fair lol

I'm not twisted I just think it's a shame I can't seem to get the message across. It's like talking to someone who drives a Honda and trying to explain how the Porsche is different. The guy will continue to claim how great his Honda is because he's never driven a Porsche. Sure, the Porsche costs more, but it just get you from A to B - right?
slider. no one ( the OP ) asked whether there were any better coils, and with all due respect. you came into the guys thread trumpeting your love of your thousand dollar coils, and said "here we go again"!
you're not often misguided ( happens to the best of us ) but that was so far afield, that if it wasn't twisted it sure was bending in the wind.
everyone knows you love your plasma coils. he merely asked whether there was a difference between the 87$ oems vs the 40$ oems. nothing more, nothing less. it's cool. you get a pass, and i'm just stating the obvious. no need to defend your coil purchase!

Also, for the group, are you guys closing down the gap or is the 997 coil enough of an upgrade that the OEM gap will be just fine??
Remember, my current issue is a missfire (flameout) with the new 1.0Bar Cobb tune. Stock tune previously...
