Coils 997-602-104-00 Vs 997-602-104-02
So you're saying I should have purchased the $87 coils? Why? If everyone is saying they're the exact same thing?
Also, for the group, are you guys closing down the gap or is the 997 coil enough of an upgrade that the OEM gap will be just fine??
Remember, my current issue is a missfire (flameout) with the new 1.0Bar Cobb tune. Stock tune previously...

not the $87 vs the $40 which are beru OEM!. they are one and the same. gotta do homework even when doing oem part purchases because of examples just like your original post. but like i said, pelican has a way of mixing stuff up occasionally. that said, i use them constantly but they are local and cheap,.. and i get stuff next day

just stick em in, and gap plugs ( or dont bother as they ARE pre gapped!! ) at .027 and use the gt2 plug bosch ldc6 which ( again ) pre gapped right out of the box. even bbi will tell ya that lol

I'm not suggesting at all that the $80 coil is better than the $40. In fact, they are probably the same. The 997 parts is the upgraded part - the 996 part is no longer used by Porsche. I do have the Plasma Direct coils. If you plan on keeping your car for 5 years or more, You will eventually pay the $1000 for coils anyway and be subject to failures the whole time. All of the people telling you they aren't any different - have never actually used them. I put them on my car when it was already running fine (with no misfires) and could immediately notice the difference. They are also guaranteed for life. I haven't replaced a coil in over 3 years since I originally purchased them.
That's the whole story - I'm not promoting anything - those are just the facts.

no one suggested that you did! whew slider.. that was cleared up in the ( make that FOURTH lol ) reply! they ARE the same and obviously carry a 997 part. anyone that doesn't know by now there ARE NO 996 part# coils any longer is sleeping or not playing along at home lol.
and, stock though they may be, NO ONE is gonna need a set of oem coils on a tuned car as often as you suggest. while I personally have do doubt that the plasma coils may or DO? provide a cleaner more consistent ( whatever ) spark, whether they are worth $200.00 EACH while stock ones work perfectly fine for FORTY DOLLARS each, well you get to be the arbiter of that, and many of us will still continue to use FORTY dollar coils, ..change em as needed ( about every couple years is not excessive and yet, nor is it NEEDED unless they are CRACKED! ) and we will continue to stare longingly at the mere mention of plasma coils just knowing with certainty that we of the lowly oem coil user,s have diminished or unworthy spark

I'm just windin ya up! forget about it. you've got the better coils and we all "know" it lol
