It would be nice if the programming would have dual stage boost controls maximizing boost at certain RPM's to address the traction issues, rather than new gears. AEM does that for the VIPERS, and you wouldn't lose efforts in 1st gear. More boost will come on in higher gears, and certain RPM ranges. Perhaps GIAC has that in the horizon.

Tim, Bill, just feather first and bottom of second. Takes a lot of getting used to. I floored 1 and 2 in the GT2, and my car went 8' to the right, almost hittig a guard rail. Yikes!

Chad:
What would it cost to re-gear the rear end? I don't do much dragging at all, I'm a track guy and I am gentle on the drive train (double clutch downshift, no speed shifting, etc.) so I am not that concerned about my abuse of the clutch and the synchro’s should last. I’m running GT-2 PS2’s (thanks Shank for helping me there).

Scott:
Let me know.

Shank:
You’re right, I just need to relearn the car.

My biggest problem is that 1st gear. I am banging the revlimiter all the damn time.

Tim,

You mean to tell me that your car is now faster than my supercharger? :-) :-)

Nice job. Might have to take Todd up on doing some internal work after hearing your results.

Regards

If only stuff like AEM existed for our cars... For the experts out there it's a great standalone management.... You can really fine tune for weather conditions, different fuel, nitrous etc... Great stuff.

Tim,

first of all congrats, I am thinking of doing the same to the TT Cab I just got. Second, who did the work for you, was it local? Can I swing by sometime and check her out, maybe you can take me for a ride, I want to see how different it is than the stage 2 I had in my 2003 Turbo.

Thanks

Lou

Lou:

Sol at Perfect Power did the work. I just can't find the time to do it myself. The difference between your stage 2 and the stage 4 goes like this. The stage 2 is noticeably faster than stock and feels great. Stage 4 is frighteningly fast. Seriously, I know I will get used to it but it hauls like a possessed demon! I know there are much faster cars out there and those have to be completely psychotic, but I can’t track those reliably.

Anytime you want to check her out, let me know. I’m trying to work on a fall party at my house with all you guys but I’m trying to finish my stinking garage first.

can the dealer read the ECU if its stage 2 3 or 4 etc. I know alot of the programs have the ability to hide from the diagnostic computer at the dealerships.
