What is the correct way to do 60to130 runs?
Wondering what is the correct way to do 60 - 130mph runs. I assume one would be going along at 60mph in a gear of choice and accelerate from there to 130. Or are you allready in full acceleration and symply start timing as you hit 60mph on your way to 130mph ? I realize you should be on a level road. Also do you use a stop watch or do it with a laptop conected to the OBD2 port? I would think the only accurate way is with a computer.
What would be a respectable time for K16 TT with minor mods? (Exhaust, Flash,)
Thanks in advance, Karl

You need a RaceLogic Performance Box, the unit will mount on the windshield and record the runs to a data card that you view using a computer. http://www.vboxusa.com/performancedrift/ (I believe Dan @ Vivid may keep these in stock)
Start in either 2nd or 3rd (depending on your setup) about 40-50 mph cruise and gun it

Or Driftbox. Plenty of guys have them....ask around, someone will let you borrow one. They are all GPS based units and log time distance, altitude i.e. slope, et al. There is a setting for 60-130. It will start recording at 60 and stop at 130. The data file will have details and you'll need to send it to Scott [Diveextreme] for verification after which it will be posted in the sticky at the top of this page.
Karl,
You really need a dedicated device to accurately measure 60-130s. Speedos are not to be trusted and its dangerous trying to work a stopwatch at 130mph. The way that the board will validate (for the list) the time is to use a GPS based timing device like the drift box or performance box. These will accurately measure your runs and record on a flash card so you can view graphic representations of the run on your computer and share results with other board members.
A good time for your mods would be about 9.5 seconds. You should start in 3rd gear below 50 mph then floor it, shift once into 4th and go for the redline. This should put you at 130 mph assuming you have a 6-speed and have not changed any ratios.

And remember Karl, the mods you have currently are like pot. Nothing but a "gateway drug. "
My one recommendation for you would be to go out and buy yourself some Nomex lined pockets my friend. When the bug bites, it bites hard!

Good luck. Once you're sucked in...it's all over.
No kidding, I am allready thinking K24/18g and I've only had the car for 3 months, put 2500k miles on it, 800 miles since mods......allready getting use to the extra power and want more.......

Go out easy in 1st and second, shift into 3rd nice and easy at 40 mph...thats right, 40. At 45 punch it...the key is to drive through 60 mph at full boost/momentum, not start at 60. Hold 4th until 136 on your speedo and don't be a little sissy boy who worries about your engine blowing or anything like that.
If you dont care about those, then fine. Btw...i bought the same exact clutch as yours. Thanks man.

I'm pretty sure that there is no correct way...
Here's why...
So you run a 60-130, then you'll be challenged to run at the drag strip...
So you run at the drag strip and turn in a decent (or maybe no) time...
Then you'll be challenged to run on the dyno...
So you run on the dyno and post your numbers...
Then you'll be told that you need to run on a DIFFERENT dyno, and given the reasons...
So you...
Get the point?
