Putting it All Together

Well the shopping is done for the upgrades to my 05 996 turbo cab and and now its time to put it all together. JIC Cross suspension , Sway bars and sway bar links, Agency Power dv's , Agency Power carbon intake , BBI exhaust , Softtronic flash , 997 oem short shifter and HRE monoblocks with Michelin PS's. Looking for advice on getting the best setup and tune . Is there a particular order to these mods when setting them up? What are the common pitfalls or errors encountered with doing these mods? Thanks in advance for all the help on this project and all the great advice that I have gotten from the board members already. Thomas

what type of turbos are you going with? stock k16/k24?

you may want to consider jrz rs or kw for suspension. You may also want to consider the oem 997 short shifter. I had the oem 997 shifter, switched to the 997 short shift before i put 20 miles on the car.

Great choice with the exhaust. I went through several exhaust systems before settling on this one.

Pretty good mod plan for TT. I also agree SSK is a must for our car. I've try 997 shifter and it was not short enough. When you do the 18g upgrade, you also need clutch upgrade for the extra power.

Any plan for exterior upgrade, I might able to help!

I believe Ray is saying a Short shift kit is necessary, as he tried the oem 997, and it wasn't short enough for him.

True, I have B&M SSK with my 996TT. 997 OEM shift kit are smoother thought gears. But it feel too long for me. I've also try the 997 short shift kit, maybe I get use to my B&M and still think OEM SSK was not short enough. Which part of BC are you from? I'm in Vancouver and you're welcome to try my B&M shifter.

Hey Ray, i actually had the B&M SSK too. If you like the B&M, you'll love the oem 997 short shifter

I went from B&M -> OEM 997 shifter -> OEM 997 Short Shifter

Putting it all Together

Just got all the parts today. Big thanks to Dan at Vivid. Waiting on BBI to fab the exhaust ... quality takes time. I will post pics of the entire build when the last parts have arrived. Thanks again to all the board members for your help. Thomas
