Working on a 02 996TT purchase?

I found this 2002 911 Turbo in SoCal, I have gone as far as getting a PPI done on the vehicle. Im hoping that 6speed forum can help me with this purchase. The vehicle is staight OEM which is what I'd like to start with. Is there anything else that I can do to verify this is a descent vehicle for a daily driver?

A thorough PPI should show everything that you should know. Off the top of my head you should do a,

leakdown and compression test
ecu dump(how many over revs and what lvl)
carefully read all service records
test if it has a second gear popping out issue
condition of brakes, tires, etc
carfax(clean? how many owners?)

This is what I'll be doing when I look for one.

All said above.

I also suggest having someone who owns a similar car take it for spin...

I think the second gear pop is probably the most significant "hidden" problem. Search the forum for the symptoms if you dont know how to test for it.
