trouble shooting

guys
im not sure where the problem lies with my car

the handling isnt confidence inspiring

there seems to be a slight delay in steering response, and the car just doesnt fly around corners

im running on toyo t1r 235/315, and im rwd
the suspension has been corner balanced, and all that great stuff, gt2 specs, etc

my REAR wheels seem to be abnormally wide
my toyo's stretched on the rear, which i was told didnt allow the sidewall to flex enough, and therefore compromised handling
i put a michelin ps2 on it, and the sidewall isnt as stretched, but doesnt sit flush with the edge of the rim

im being given 2 alternatives

1. get a set of 18s
2. put a 325 30 19 in the rear, and a 245 35 19 up front, and that should elimate my problems

i would rather do option 2, but im afraid that it will rub uncontrollably
what does 6 speed say

Steve, I have mine on a set of 18" wheels with Toyo's. No rubbing, very close though as I inspected last time on the stand. I had the same problem with my 19's in RWD mode.

18" are always better for handling on 996s...

Steve I saw your car up on the lift and you definately need to do something about your wheel/tire combo... I am surprised your not afraid to drive like that on the street haha. Your wheels stick out of your tires on both sides... I will say they look sick though!

dean, i really want to get wider tires, but my obly option is to run a 30 series profile, which makes me think its going to rub like hell

Steve, even when i had 305/30/19 245/35/19 it rubbed like crazy. I think you should go with 18's.

I switched over to 18's, and everythings all good now

^ dude, do u think that rolling the fender, and dialing in some negative camber would have helped the situation ?
